Catching the Moment

As I passed by this doorway, there were two ladies of age sitting on the seat that caught my attention. Often older people bring a bit more character to an image, so to capture them, I positioned myself outside the room in the corridor and waited for a moment. If people are aware you are photographing them, they tend to move to a different state of consciousness, making them more self-aware which has an impact on the final image. As I waited, sadly the two older ladies left taking my intended image with them. This was then replaced by a young lady with her head in her hands, making a new image but telling a different story from the one I expected.

In the realm of candid photography, the ability to adapt and find beauty or meaning in unexpected moments is a testament to your skill as a photographer. While the original intention may not have been realized, the resulting image showcases the serendipity and storytelling power inherent in capturing unscripted moments.
